Global Surgical Initiatives - Kyabirwa Surgical Center is thrilled to announce multiple job openings, offering dynamic career opportunities for dedicated individuals passionate about healthcare. As we continue to expand our impact and provide high-quality surgical care in Uganda, we are looking for talented professionals to join our team. We currently have vacancies for the positions of Theatre Assistant, Security Guard, and Data Collection Assistant.
Theatre Assistant
The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for ensuring the proper sterilization and preparation of theatre equipment and instruments. Key duties include working with the theatre team to collect, clean, disinfect, pack, and sterilize surgical instruments, supporting the cleaning and sterilization of all theatre linen, adhering to infection prevention protocols, and managing theatre waste. A certificate as a Theatre Assistant from a recognized institution, knowledge of infection prevention protocols, and registration with the Allied Health Professionals Council are required.
Security Guard
We are seeking a vigilant Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our facility at all times. Responsibilities include patrolling the premises, inspecting the facility, equipment, and access points, preventing losses and damages, registering visitors, and ensuring timely opening and closing of the premises. The minimum requirements for this role include an O’ level certificate, at least one year’s experience as a security guard, good communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies. Data Collection Assistant
The Data Collection Assistant will provide crucial statistical support and data collection for assigned research studies and projects. Key duties involve traveling to field sites to collect and record data and samples, analyzing data using various statistical methods, conducting and recording interviews with study subjects, and clarifying data entry or coding errors. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a diploma in any field, at least one year’s experience in research and community-based survey data collection, the ability to conduct qualitative interviews, and proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
